Garden Equipment
Manufacturer’s are producing gardening equipment which not only is well built and lasts a long time but also benefits the environment and the people who make it. Many everyday gardening tools can be made from recycled sources.
A garden tool or equipment is any of those devices used for agriculture and horticulture. They are also classified on the basis of their operation as hand tools and power tools. Typical examples of had equipments are the spade, the garden hoe, the fork and rake and the plough. Such equipments are usually made of wood, flint or stone. It can also be said that these mentioned equipments were the oldest to be used by man in his gardening or agricultural activities. The most important advancement in the history of garden equipments is attributed to the development in the field of metal working. In other words, man started to use copper, iron and steel accordingly for making his garden equipment which enhanced their reliability, long life and precision.
In the case of bigger gardens, the use of hand tools was less productive due to the volume of work and so power driven tools were developed. The best example of power driven garden equipment is the lawn mower, which is also the most common. Other examples are cultivators, string trimmer, water sprinklers, lawn aerators, leaf sweepers, blowers and mini-tractors. Corrosion is one of the most important problems that are encountered by gardeners. Proper storage and maintenance of these tools are important for sustaining their strength and efficiency, both for hand and power driven tools. In the case of power tools the eco-friendliness is also an important factor as the use of such devices may harm the environment due to its exhaust pollution, noise pollution or even energy efficiency. So many countries have set up mandatory norms recently which are to be followed while using garden power tools.
