Default Converting your car to run on LPG

Does anyone know how you go about doing this and how much it costs? Anyone with experience of LPG?

Thanks in advance

Well a few years ago we had a mercedes that we had converted to LPG. We paid around £1500 for the conversion about 8 or 9 years ago and decided to do it due to the high mileage that we were doing at that time.
Our experience was positive although the technology at that time meant that the switch to LPG was a bit dodgy and didn't always work and the tank took up an awful lot of room in the boot.
There is alot more choice in the technology now and you can usually find a local garage that specialises in LPG conversions. Also many more garages offer LPG - great if you are doing the mileage to ofset the cost!

I know it can be done. I think if you look on line you can find kit you can buy. Let us know what you find.

From experience on having rode on many cars powered by LPG it is slow on uphill climbs compared to those on gasoline/diesel fuel. City driving it's very ok and I'll bet its good on long distance too. The question with long distance driving is if you have enough fuel to make it back because if your destination doesn't have a gas station with LPG fuel available, you're gonna be stuck when you run out.

You are right of course since the performance is really poor unless its run on on hot air from Congress!! I believe we havent fully expored the new technologies yet.

Well in my experience by converting your car you have the option of duel fuel, for example you would have a tank of petrol that you could convert to should your lpg run low.
