Retention Cisterns

Retention cisterns for rainwater retention and sewer relief. To guarantee retention of rainwater, a delayed drain is fitted in the sewer with a delay of 0.05 to 2.0 l/sec. depending on the customer’s specifications.
In the event of heavy rainfall, the water level in the cistern rises above this level and is drained into the sewer at a delayed speed using a floating drain choke. This relieves the sewer and the treatment works. The water level can rise to the emergency overflow and sink slowly back down again after the rain.

Retention cisterns refer to the storage and preservation of rain water. Retention cisterns are mainly built to rain water which can be used for different purposes later. These cisterns are connected by pipes and channel which are connected to the sideways of rooftops of the houses, buildings and apartments. Thus during heavy and light rainfalls these pipes draw water to the retention cisterns. As a result of which the cisterns are filled up with rain water. The retention cisterns help a lot during drought periods. The retention cisterns are available in small and extra large models which can store huge gallons of water. The cisterns are available of up to four thousand five hundred litres to one litre capacity. The rain water can be used washing purposes as well as cleaning purposes. On heating and boiling the rain water, it can be used for even cooking purposes. During dry seasons the rain water collected from these retention cisterns can be used for irrigation and agricultural purposes. The rain water can be also used to water the plants in the garden. These retention cisterns can be built in the underground and even the upper part of the ground. The retention cisterns also play a major role in controlling the growth of mosquitoes and other harmful bacteria.
The retention cisterns come in models which are frost resistant and overflow outlet. The frost resistant feature helps in preventing the water to freeze during winter seasons. When overflow takes place the rain water is drawn into specific channels with the help of floating drain choke. The rain water can be used to give water to cattle and bathing them. The retention cisterns are made of concrete or strong plastic and fibre materials.
