Waste
Homes in the UK produce 330 million tonnes of waste a year. The govenment is looking at introducing measures to reduce waste including fining people who do not recycle. Local authorities in England have been told to increase recycling rates to 50% by 2020 – that is about double the current rate. An Open University survey suggests kerbside collection in England of recyclable items like glass and paper has already contributed to increased recycling rates. What do you think makes up your household waste?

More Info
| Green waste mainly refers to the natural food wastes and human and animal wastes. Green wastes are mainly called the biodegradable which are very rich in nitrogen. These wastes are also created due to the disintegration of plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables. If the waste food and disintegrated plant items which are the main constituents of the green wastes are not properly disposed or recycled, it can lead to global warming because these green wastes produces many harmful gases. The green waste which when accumulated in bulk develops biogas which can be used in making different bio fuels and transportation fuels. By collecting the green wastes in bulk many useful gases like methane, butane and ethane can be obtained. These gases are very useful for many purposes. From the green waste materials like paper, disintegrated plants and woods different kinds of vegetable oils can be produced.
In order to recycle the green wastes various green recycle service managements are available and these management services play a major role in controlling all sorts of pollution. The green service management basically provide the information of using and recycling the green wastes and green articles. By using the green wastes the emission of carbon contents can be minimised. They also encourage the use of solar powered appliances which does not have any evil effect to the environment. Mainly the use of paper and cardboards are very high and also their disposal. Each and every day the disposal of paper and cardboards is increasing and these disposed paper items are collected in bulk for recycling process. The green service managements also alert the harmful effects of plastic and give detailed information about the disposal and recycling processes of plastic. |
